Muse Quest How to Play
Muse Quest turns knowledge quizzes into RPG battles. Choose a subject and subsubject, enter battle, answer correctly, and grow score, XP, coins, titles, and ranking progress.
1. Core Gameplay Loop
- Choose subject
- Quiz battle
- Rewards & growth
The flow is a growth loop: choose a subject, fight through questions, manage resources, then use rewards to open deeper knowledge routes.
2. RPG Growth System
Four main attributes shape quiz-battle strategy:
Understanding and judgment. Higher INT helps unlock advanced tiers and withstand harder questions.
Extends answer time so difficult questions have more room for thinking.
Raises mistake-evasion chance and may reduce HP loss after a wrong answer.
Affects critical rate and damage, giving strong runs higher score returns.
2.1 XP, Levels, and Attribute Points
Clearing a run does not directly give attribute points. Correct answers and challenge clears give XP. When XP reaches the level threshold, the character levels up and gains points that can be assigned to Wisdom, Agility, Intuition, Strength, or Vitality.
Growth flow:Answer and clear runs to gain XP → level up when XP reaches the threshold → gain attribute points → assign points manually → build proficiency in each subsubject → unlock Expert, Master, and Void when proficiency reaches the thresholds; Stage 2 opens through proficiency progress or Lifetime exploration rights.
| Tier | Growth | Player Experience |
|---|---|---|
| T1 Apprentice | Basic XP and mastery | Learn rhythm and feel growth |
| T2 Expert | Higher XP and official subject records | Start context and rule judgment |
| T3 Master | Advanced XP, mastery, and leaderboard progress | Deeper banks and rankings |
| T4 Void | Highest-tier challenge rewards and title progress | Highest pressure and rewards |
Actual XP, clear bonuses, events, and skills follow in-game display and server settlement. Growth items may increase XP or rewards, but never change correct answers.
2.2 Proficiency, Stage, and Question-Bank Unlocks
Proficiency is now the main gate for higher challenge tiers and Stage 2 subsubjects. Each subsubject has its own proficiency. Wisdom INT stays important for scoring, battle growth, rankings, and overall character identity, but it no longer directly opens Expert, Master, or Void. Lifetime members can explore Stage 2 earlier, while official high-tier difficulty still follows that subsubject's proficiency.
| Condition | Tier | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Subsubject proficiency 0-14 | T1 | Apprentice is open by default after login |
| Subsubject proficiency ≥ 15 | T2 | Opens Expert for that subsubject |
| Subsubject proficiency ≥ 50 | T3 | Opens Master for that subsubject; any 3 Stage 1 subsubjects at 50 open Stage 2 |
| Subsubject proficiency ≥ 125 | T4 | Opens Void for that subsubject |
| Lifetime member | Early Stage 2 access | Stage 2 subsubjects open immediately and proficiency growth is ×1.25; official high tiers still follow proficiency |
When proficiency or membership changes, the system rechecks playable question banks. If a bank is not ready, the UI shows “preparing” instead of a false lock.
3. Questions, Proficiency, and Difficulty
Muse Quest does not use payment or Wisdom to directly open every difficulty. Major subject and subsubject define the content. Stage 1 / Stage 2 decide when a subsubject is available. L1-L4 show question load, T1-T4 show challenge depth, and subsubject proficiency decides which official tier is available.
- Major subject:Defines the main direction of the run, such as mathematics, natural science, detective logic, strategy, or business topics.
- Subsubject:Narrows the topic into a clearer question type and knowledge focus, such as rule judgment, system reasoning, or detective reasoning under logical reasoning.
- L1-L4:Represents the amount of text, context, rules, or clues the question carries. L1 is the most direct; L4 may require full cases, multiple clues, or multi-step reasoning.
- T1-T4:Represents the challenge band. T1 is Apprentice, T2 Expert, T3 Master, and T4 Void.
- Unlock point:Subsubjects are content categories. Stage 1 is available from the start; Stage 2 opens through proficiency progress or Lifetime early access. Players usually progress from T1 to T4 within the same subsubject.
3.1 Proficiency, L Layers, T Tiers, and Time
Use the table to see which T tier opens at each subsubject proficiency threshold. L1-L4 are question-load layers, not subjects. Server-defined question time is used first; otherwise the baseline seconds apply.
| Subsubject proficiency | L Layer | T Tier | Difficulty Name | Seconds | Player Experience |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0-14 | L1 | T1 | Apprentice | 15 seconds | Short tasks and basic rules |
| 15-49 | L2 | T2 | Expert | 18 seconds | Short context and rule use |
| 50-124 | L3 | T3 | Master | 21 seconds | Context and condition trade-offs |
| 125+ | L4 | T4 | Void | 24 seconds | Full cases and high pressure |
Proficiency 15 opens Expert, 50 opens Master, and 125 opens Void in that subsubject. T1 Apprentice covers proficiency 0-14.
3.2 Score, Combo, and Critical Formula
Official runs follow server settlement. These formulas explain the score: Wisdom raises base score, combo and speed amplify it, and STR controls critical chance and multiplier.
Wisdom Base Score
Wisdom Base Score = (Question Base Reward + Wisdom INT × 0.35) × Difficulty Multiplier × 5
| Difficulty | Base Reward | Multiplier |
|---|---|---|
| T1 Apprentice | 12 | 1.0× |
| T2 Expert | 18 | 2.0× |
| T3 Master | 24 | 4.0× |
| T4 Void | 36 | 6.0× |
Score per Question
Actual Score per Question = max(100, floor(Wisdom Base Score × Combo Multiplier × Speed Multiplier))
Speed multiplier depends on remaining answer time. The faster you answer, the higher the bonus. Formula: 1 + 0.45 × (remaining time ÷ total time)^1.2.
Combo Multiplier
Combo starts after the 3rd consecutive correct answer. Higher combo sharply increases score multipliers.
| Difficulty | 1-3 combo | 4-6 combo | 7-9 combo | 10-12 combo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T1 Apprentice | 1.05× | 1.10× | 1.15× | 1.20× |
| T2 Expert | 1.12× | 1.24× | 1.36× | 1.50× |
| T3 Master | 1.20× | 1.45× | 1.70× | 2.00× |
| T4 Void | 1.30× | 1.70× | 2.10× | 2.50× |
Critical Formula
Critical hits depend on STR and are checked only after combo starts.
clamp((STR - 20)÷ 280,0,1)
Strength Ratio determines all following critical bonuses.
2% + Strength Ratio × 16%
About 2% at STR 20
About 18% at STR 300
1.20 + Strength Ratio × 0.30
About 1.20× at STR 20
About 1.50× at STR 300
floor(Actual Score per Question × Critical Multiplier)
Critical hits during combo can greatly raise score.
3.3 Unlocking More Routes
Higher proficiency opens deeper play inside the same subsubject. You still choose subject and subsubject first; Stage decides whether the subsubject is available, and that subsubject's proficiency decides whether Apprentice, Expert, Master, or Void is officially available.
- T1 Apprentice:Learn the basics of the major subject and subsubject, building base score, mastery, and answer rhythm.
- T2 Expert:The same subsubject begins to show fuller scenario questions and distractors, suitable for official record progress.
- T3 Master:More subject routes enter advanced challenge, suited for ranking, title conditions, and precise judgment.
- T4 Void:Opens the highest-pressure subject depth, suited for boss-like pressure, abyss-style questions, high rewards, and advanced title collection.
Key point: proficiency opens deeper layers inside a subsubject. Wisdom / IQ remains important for base score, battle growth, and rankings, but it is no longer the official difficulty key.
3.4 One Sentence to Remember
Subject / subsubject are categories; Stage decides subsubject availability; L1-L4 are question load; T1-T4 are depth; subsubject proficiency controls official difficulty access. Wisdom raises base score, combo and speed amplify it, and Strength decides critical hits.
4. Items, Modules, and HP
Players can obtain support items through in-game resources. The battle bar includes six consumable effects: interference, time, focus, wisdom, shield, and agility. They only affect Muse Quest challenges, have no cash value, and cannot transfer to real-world benefits.
Modules and support items are consumed after use. Availability, count, and duration appear on battle item buttons and badges.
5. Ranking, Titles, and Challenges
Official challenges record score, combo, mastery, and question-bank progress. Players compete for rankings and titles through periodic challenges, Scale of Muse, and subject rankings. Official scores follow server data to reduce cheating and tampering.
6. Guest and Member Differences
Guests can try the core flow. Members can use cloud sync, cross-device saves, ranking records, purchase records, and data deletion requests.
7. Ads and Rewards
If rewarded ads are supported, players choose whether to watch after a clear prompt. Rewards may grant one revival or support effect. Declining does not block settlement or basic use.
